The hybrid doesn't understand too much of the world around him. He didn't have anyone to guide him across the lands of Pyrrhia. But now he's trapped, alone in a dark den stolen from a family of skywings. He fears these dragons more than he should fear himself.

He has strong opinions of the different tribes; Thundersplitter is stubborn, coldhearted, yet he learns to understand the pain of the dragons he meets and relates to their stories that all have seemed too familiar. Though the more he learns, the more he loses his body to the thunder. 

There is only one dragon capable of turning an entire kingdom into turmoil. And another seeking its power.

After ten years, when the war of the SandWing Succession has finally come to a glorious ending and the Eye of Onyx has crowned Thorn as their new SandWing queen, Soaren, the surviving SkyWing, has been having trouble living in the pit for ten years all his life.
