Destiny is a beautiful word that carries more than a meaning.
Some things are meant to happen while others are 'optional'.

Two entities are the Guards of Xenoblade Chronicles' 2 timeline. They keep everything aligned to the main timeline, so all major key events have the opportunity to unfold and create the story known by many people.

However, one of these entities decided to tamper the main timeline during the development of a big major key event. The consequences are disastrous, the biggest one is leading the world to a New Future with unknown outcomes.
