Girls weren't supposed to ride horses, take care of cattle, or even resemble some form of a cowboy or bandit, but Artemis didn't play by those rules. Growing up she'd been bombarded by religious folk saying she needed to act like a proper lady, the women of the town gossiping about her, and even being insulted in the worst ways possible. She never showed how much it hurt. How the men insisted they could show her what it was like-how it felt-to be a woman. And it isn't until she stumbles upon a wide open farm field with a single woman dressed in trousers, suspenders and all, with sleeves rolled to the elbow working at the dirt that she's seen someone like her. She's vaguely aware of the words coming from her mouth and the slight tip of her hat as she dismounts her horse. All she can think of to say is, "need any help miss?"

36 parts Complete
[COMPLETED - ONLY MINORLY EDITED] ******************************************************** Greek myths - true or false? They should be false, and to 16-year-old Sophie Claire, it's never crossed her mind that they aren't. Until one day in History class when her teacher spends a day on Greek mythology and something strange starts happening - her friends and classmates begin to tell myths about certain Greek deities with frightening precision. And for some reason, she's began to feel a certain affinity for Persephone, the Greek maiden who was kidnapped by Hades, the Lord of the Underworld, and forced into a marriage with him. This isn't some coincidence or freak dream, she later finds out from a host of strange individuals who claim they're from Olympus, the grandoise home of the gods themselves. She is actually a modern reincarnation of the goddess Persephone, and she's not the only one. A few of her classmates also happen to represent the gods and goddesses from popular Greek myths, and the fact that all of them are present means that something monumental is about to happen. Something like being the girl to change Persephone's future, to break the cycle of kidnapper and victim - all by passing a trial. It won't be simple, she knows, and she's not quite that eager to take it up, but from the moment she found out that she was Persephone, there was no way to back out. She should've known, however, that dealing with all powerful, immortal deities wasn't going to be easy. They've got a few secrets and personality flaws up their sleeves, and they could be deadly. More than deadly - murderous.

Everything was gone. I sobbed, my clothes ripped and I was bleeding, but it didn't matter. I had to get to her, to them. Had to find- Struggling to stand, I grasped my side, biting back the scream that wanted to escape. I looked down at my hands and red coated them, blurring together until I couldn't see anything anymore. I squeezed my eyes shut, forcing my panicked breathing to slow, until I felt in control of myself again. It had been so long, I thought as I turned my peeling and dry face to the sun, my fingers shaking as I struggled to make sense of them. For so long, I'd been a wolf, cursed. All that I was, or could've been had been reduced to nothing but an animal driven by instinct, bloodlust, thousands of lives met their ends at the edges of my razor sharp claws. I had no idea where I was, how much time had passed. My fingers touched something hard in the sand, and a jolt of information went through me as Queen Azalea's sword, gleamed as I pulled it free. My heart started to pound as sun glinted off of the blade, reflecting back at me. I nearly dropped the metal when I saw myself. I took a second look and saw white hair, caked with dirt, and yellow eyes, blue veins sparking in their depths. All at once, I remembered who I was. I remembered why I was here, how much time had passed. I am Azalea Marie Albescu, The Queen Alpha. A false queen sits on my throne, controls what's mine. I would have to make my way back to my pack, my family, and my home, if still there. I would rise again, as I had before, and reclaim what belongs to me. DISCLAIMER: AS WITH MANY OF MY STORIES, I DO IMPLICATE SITUATIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT/ABUSE. Not in any way do I intend to glamorize this behavior, I write about these delicate and painful situations because I myself relate to them and will always fight for survivors, including myself. Thank you for your understanding and if you are in any way uncomfortable reading these stories, I encourage you to look elsewhere.
The girl with golden hair (Harry Potter fanfic) by Papillon98
21 parts Complete
When a boy, who's already lost everything, and a girl, who can't help but question what she has, meet, it's like destiny itself brought the two together. Artemis Lupin is a young witch with an air of charm and sarcasm. She has a way of getting on your nerves yet you can't help but like her. But underneath that seemingly 'open book' lies a girl who never belonged. Even though she's supposed to be a member of a high status pureblooded family, she's always had trouble adapting to their rules. Nobody knows exactly how much she's struggling with herself and the nightmare that never seems to go away. As she tries to prevent her friend from getting killed because of his dangerous curiousity and disability to think ahead, she gets sucked more and more into the mystery of the Philosopher's Stone. ~~~~ The girl with golden hair is the first book in the Artemis Lupin series. She was used to investigating mysteries on her own. People were untrustworthy. They lied. They tried to change the past. But the past couldn't be changed. Her own past was complicated. Especially because she wasn't the one hiding it, it was kept from her. For a good reason, they thought. The dream was her only lead. The only way to figure it all out. The dream was simply the end of a curse and the beginning of a nightmare. Because some secrets are better kept secret. The web of lies and deceit only got more complicated. Familymembers talked out of turn. The wise man was far too interested and the dark saw the truth in her eyes. Because her dream was simply the story. The story of betrayal, friendship but mostly death. But the thing that could ruin it all, was the very thing they couldn't change. It was the only truth in the past of lies. Her grey eyes and his black blood. ~Completed on June 20 2016~ (*Disclaimer* all rights go to J.K. Rowling. You can read this without having read the book.)

Daughter of Death

29 parts Complete

👑💀"Daughter of Death" is now complete!! ||| Ophelia, a goddess, daughter of Hades and Aphrodite, sent on a quest? And as a sixth-grader? ||| Warnings/Info: -Foul language -This is my first story, so I will accept any tips from other writers, because I have no clue what I'm doing... - 'these little lines are placed when the main character is thinking' -This book starts as 1st person point of view, then switches to 2nd person POV -There are LOTS of errors, and there are currently people working on them -This becomes tightly connected to the "Percy Jackson" and "Heroes of Olympus" book series, so read that before this -This is a fanfiction! No "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" characters/topics belong to me! No art/music/photos belong to me! All PJO characters belong to Rick Riordan!
