In this story y/n is Keith Kogane's twin sister, though you looked more like you're mother, Galran, and Keith more like you're father, human. Because of you're looks, Krolia, you're mother, knew you couldn't stay on Earth, when she left she took you with her, back to the Blade of Marmora. You were allowed to stay there for multiple years while you matured and trained, once you were 17 you where sent to infuriate the Galra and you ended up in Sendak's fleet. That's where our story begins, in Sendak's fleet headed to Arus.
