Stacy's best friend is Kim Taehyung. He has been in love with her for years, but she has always had feelings for Simon Darcy. Simon has been her boyfriend for a year, and things have been going smoothly.

Perhaps too smoothly.

On the anniversary of their relationship, he takes her out on a date. Stacy thinks she is getting a proposal, and for a moment it seems like it just might be that... until he tells her that they need to break up because they are not a fit.

Stacy's heart breaks and she feels betrayed. She knows that he wants someone else because they are richer than her. When she finds out that Simon's new girlfriend is Hannah Montgomery, she loses hope to take back her man.

Taehyung believes it will be too easy not to take revenge. He recruits himself for the task. He is happy to help her get the courage to get Simon back, even if he is in love with her. Things go great, then they don't. Before it is too late, they have to halt their plans because Hannah and Simon are a merger and acquisition move (M&A) and everyone is coming for her since she is the 'other woman.'

Taehyung has to stop her from getting more hurt by the revenge he helped her plan. They abandon ship, but Shannah is out for blood and Taehyung must protect her at all costs. They quickly get engaged and hope that the sham will stop the public from attacking them. It works, but then Stacy starts to fall for Taehyung, and Simon wants her back after a breakup with Hannah.

It is Stacy's turn to avoid second lead syndrome.
