In the beginning the universe was engulfed by darkness. The darkness was so alone so it gave birth to Balance and Norns that governed it, gods, monsters and humans were victims to the fates set by the two(balance and norns). A few creatures that knew about this fought against it. Ofnir the ALLFATHER continuously fought against his fate but in doing so brought ragnarok into the universe. A great evil plagued the realms and led to scale of balance being tipped to the side of evil. The god of balance saw this and tried to fix the scale back to normal but in doing so led to it being broken. In the end freed all creatures and gods from the norns and their set fates. This is world where neither god nor monster, human or dwarf. Good or bad is governed by destinies. Do you want your freedom and then you are welcome to take in the forgotten islands

Annie finally gets the nerve to leave a bad relationship. With nothing but an old truck and camper, she starts driving to what she hopes is a new beginning. Somehow, she ends up in the cursed lands of Greyson. She finds she is trapped in a world where time stands still, and magic exist. At first it seems like a paradise. But like they say, when it seems too good to be true, most of the time it is. When there is a misunderstanding, the king accuses Annie of stealing and he kicks her out of the castle. Done with feeling rejected and alone, Annie decides it's time to find a way out. As she tries to find her way out, she starts to learn more about the curse and its people. She also starts to realize maybe the king is not as big of a monster as she thought. Even though most of Greyson is beautiful, something evil is lurking. Unfortunately, this causes many problems for his social life since his family's reputation precedes him and makes it so no one will talk with him. He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted.
