She just stood there, staring right back at me, trying to read my mind, as I try to keep my tears at bay.

Why does falling in love has to be painful?

She sighed, taking a step towards me, "Lisa, I love you. You know that."

I nodded, "But you're not in love with me." I took another step back. "I.. I understand."

"Lisa please. Don't be like this."

"It's okay Jennie. I'll be okay. Just.. Just give me time okay?" I said, forcing a small smile to my face. Feeling all my energy leaving my body.

I sighed defeatedly, shaking my head lightly. "I need to go."

Jennie reached out in an attempt to hold me, but changed her mind. "Will I have my best friend back if I give you the time you need?"

"Yes. I'll always be here for you."

"Promise me you'll come back, Lili."
