A Fool's World is Infinite
'I knew it... We're going to die here...' When it seemed salvation was near, it was ripped from us, as if the world wanted to show our fate, mirrored by the remains before us. The thought came uncontrolled and dreaded deeper when more dungeon spawn emerged from the lurking shadows, charging at us. "FIREBOLT" In a desperate attempt at delaying the inevitable, fear overtook me as I recklessly drained my reserves, while making a barrier of stone between us and death. Exhaustion and terror crashed over me, as I fell to the floor. Ryuu-san must be worried--she must be saying something--but the ringing in my ears and the darkness closing in around my eyes are too much for me. "This is where we... I can't... anymore..." Someone... please... save us-- In an instant, a blinding light engulfed the dimly lit room. =O= This is my take on a Danmachi reaction fic. I haven't came across many of them so I'll just make my own! I'll be happy to receive any support/feedback/criticism because this is my first fanfic (hopefully with more to come). Everybody except me, of course, because why would I be worried about a boring mortal? As I'm reading my book, I see everybody staring at me. I know that it is smart for them to not trust me, but my god. Your stares are making me uncomfortable, Lady Natasha. I try to shift into a more comfortable position, but give up after 5 minutes. "Can you stop staring at me?" I ask, glaring at Natasha. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Several minutes later, I'm sitting on a couch, my knees huddled to my chest. "You good?" Natasha says. I nod, trying to figure out who was in the room. I listen to the conversations going on around me, jumping from one to another. As I listen to Natasha's conversation, I hear the light footfalls of somebody trying to sneak through the room. I quietly and slowly get up, following the sound of the footsteps. I hear them falter, then stop altogether. I swing my arms around me, trying to get my bearings when I smack the wall with my hand. "Hello?" I say. I listen, but only hear silence. "The other side Nico! We will see you there. Understand?" Nico's eyes widened. "But-" "Lead them there!" Percy shouted. "Promise me!" „I-, I will." Nico watched in horror how Percy promised Annabeth to always stay together, to never be apart again. Then, Percy let go and he and Annabeth fell down. All around, he could hear the others shouting and running to help. All too late, Percy and Annabeth were gone. Suddenly, Nico heard another sound. A strange crackling was increasingly more and more prominent, until it drowned the voices of the remaining five. Before he realized what was happening, the ground beneath his torso was crumbling away, larger and larger pieces were disappearing in the hungry darkness below. Nico did not have time to react. The next thing he knew, he was falling too. OR Three demigods fall into Tartarus after finding the statue of Athena Parthenos. For better or worse, it is not the first time for Nico.
