Haunted by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Luke had been anxious to escape with his twin brother, Shawn, from his small hometown in Washington to a giant campus in California for his freshman year of college.
Hannah and Kylie, two average girls from Indiana getting used to the college life in California, were just glad to soaking up the summer sun and enjoying life before first semester set into full swing.
When the two pairs run into each other in the parking lot of their apartment complex, things between the two don't start off as well as imagined. But when Hannah desperately needs someone new to prove to her ex boyfriend that she's better off without him, Kylie sparks a plan that Hannah is forced into, turning new relationships into unexpected ones and bringing up old memories that were never meant to reach the surface.
