My words shattered the moment. The Rage and hatred in his eyes were back. My heart clenched. His grip on me tightened, almost hurting me and  grounding me in a reality I didn't want to face. 

"Princess," he sneered, his voice dripping with scorn. The once-affectionate pet name now sounded like a curse, and I hated the way it made me feel-ashamed, broken. "Your sorry doesn't mean shit. You made your choice and now it's time to pay for it."

Before I could respond, before I could process his words, he released me. My knees buckled slightly, and I pressed against the wall for support, trying to catch my breath.

By the time I looked up, Antarang was already gone.
