Captain Alice Kirkland.
Less known than her brother but as sharp and deadly as him, the witty Lady-Captain finds herself sailing across the atlantic one day, a child in her lap. This child was headed to the Americas with the daring Captain, and all was calm on the ocean.

Until he appeared.

He was Blackbeard, one of the select few pirates more feared than the Kirkland's themselves. He ransacked the ship, captured the Captain and child, and dumped the former in the middle of the Sahara with nothing but her clothes, her sword, and permanent scars. Upon waking and discovering her missing friend, Alice must rebuild her sea-empire and reclaim what was her own.
