"Can I touch you?" I asked him as we were now standing inches away. He nodded and I reached my hand up to him.
I expected to feel nothing, just air, but instead, I felt him. His flesh, his bone and even blood running through his now tight jaw under my fingers. Thats when i felt life.
Life wasnt about being alive and breathing. Life was about someone being able to connect with you in some what of a way. A small "hello" from a stranger is life. Anything that you believe is real can be given life. Life is in a mind and soul. Not flesh and bones.
I felt his soul. I felt his mind. To me, he was alive and here. With me.

The sun beat down on my dirt covered face, making my skin feel tight. The ropes burned my skin as I struggled to get my arms free. The screams from the other women seemed to last for hours, then silence. I knew that the dead would come for us soon. (How did I get myself into this situation, and how am I going to get out?) Think, Leah, you have to survive this, think hard. I could hear them coming in the distance. There's not much time left. The others had faded away, and I had to use them to save my life. What has my life come to?- was my thought as I pulled layers of skin back from a girl I had only known for a short time. Her name was Carly with short blonde hair and sky blue eyes. "Thank you, Carly, for helping me," I whispered as I smeared her blood on my face. I began to feel weak. How long has it been, and how long can I survive? As I contemplated these questions, my mind began to slowly sink into darkness... They are closer now, and soon I'll be free...was my last thoughts.
