Meet Clay. A six year old boy whose parents run a rehabilitation center for the critically endangered Ambystoma mexicanum, better known as the axolotl. One day, a very special axolotl comes into the rehabilitation center. Will Clay help this axolotl, or will the axolotl help Clay?

This is my first book, so I'd rather not be heavily criticized, but light criticism is appreciated. If there are any typos PLEASE point them out! :P This is a Dream x Reader book. There are mentions of blood, self harm, anxiety and panic attacks. This book also contains descriptive violence and use of weaponry. And perhaps death. Going to a public school as an autistic, highly intelligent boy, he clearly notices the differences between his classmates and himself, giving him a lot of insecurity and shame about his own behaviour. As his escape, he goes to a bakery for hours a day to calm his mind, but things change when a new boy who moved is hired. Unexpectedly, and for the first time, George decides to open himself up to the new boy, Clay, while at the same time, Clay slowly starts falling for his new best friend, George. Clay has autism and finds comfort in simple things, the illuminated a fireplace on a winter's night, fish swimming and stuffed animals. However, this was all soon to change after a tragic accident. Clay finds himself alone, seeing his happiness slip away from one simple mistake. George doesn't have an easy home life, after noticing signs of possibly a muscle disease, his only wish is to get help for it, however his parents deny every word that is brought up about it. Yet, it gets worse by the day as George quickly looses any hope left. When Clay is left traumatised by his past, he thinks nothing will bring back the same happiness he once felt, but when George moves into the farm he often visits, that same joy that was extinguished with the fire, sparks again...
