(UPDATE - September 4, 2022 - I am currently REWRITING this fic! Please do not be alarmed if things change. I wrote this over a year ago and still like the concept, but I hate the way I executed it. This fic will be cross-posted on AO3 as soon as I rewrite it.)

16 year-old Eddie Brock tries to do good. He's doing his best, well, the best he can do with a homicidal symbiote inside him. He stops robberies, muggings, but is it really a good deed if the other person ends up down his digestive system? Probably not, but it's one of the only things he can do to shut Venom up.  And apparently the Avengers think that it's not exactly morally correct, too. 

This is an MCU AU, and I'm going to be basing Eddie more on his Venom (2018) counterpart in terms of personality. Also in this fic, Civil War didn't happen. Pietro still dies in Age of Ultron, but Bruce is still on Earth. This AU would take place after Spider-Man: Homecoming, around the autumn of 2017. Expect some angst and gore, I mean this IS Venom, however, I'll put a TW before the chapter.

When new intel comes through about a Hydra weapon, the avengers split into two teams, one checking out a new base, while the other scours an old one. It's no coincidence that the intel comes through, and they find files about experiments done to one person. 'winter 2.0' the team calls her, but to Bucky, the fear sinks in as memories resurface about one soldier in particular, Ace. Stronger, deadlier and she made the winter soldier in him afraid. The work together to find out all they can, not realising that they are being watched by the very soldier herself. After an attack on the compound, which leaves quite a few of the team shaken, one avengr in particular is intrigued by the univited guest now residing in the holding cells. Who is the masked assailant, and why is it, she listened to him? **** The soldier begins to remember her past, fighting against all the Hydra conditioning, to remember who she was. Why does one of the men stand out? Who is he, and why does she have an overwhelming need to protect him? She knows Hydra will stop at nothing to get their soldiers back, but will she submit to Hydra or fight for right to live free? Steve & a couple of friends scour the Earth to find her only to end up heartbroken when they are told she's headed to a different galaxy. She is focused on mastering herself when she's pulled back to Earth due to a friend being days away from death. This fanfic is an alternate universe. There are nods to the MCU and easter eggs throughout the story, but this story-line is of my own making. The timeline is also jumbled up, there will be things happening before they should have and things that should be happening that won't be. The characters names are property of Marvel, MCU. My main character is inspired by a few different Marvel characters, but is my own. Bucky is NOT the one to kill the Stark's in this fic. This story is rated Mature due to it's eventual sexual content and steamy interactions.
