An original book following the story of Y/n Oreli, an orphan from Keramzin who has been best friends with Alina Starkov and Malyen Oretsev since she was a small child. At a young age, before she was tested, she discovered that she had powers to summon the shadows. The only people who ever knew were those close to her. However, the time comes when she has to cross the Fold, but something happens with her powers, and it is revealed that she is something greater.
Follows the books of Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising.

(I blame Ben Barnes even though I had read the books and knew what was coming, it still started with the Darkling, but then Nikolai swaggered onto the screen, and it just had to change!)
