An original book following the story of Y/n Oreli, an orphan from Keramzin who has been best friends with Alina Starkov and Malyen Oretsev since she was a small child. At a young age, before she was tested, she discovered that she had powers to summon the shadows. The only people who ever knew were those close to her. However, the time comes when she has to cross the Fold, but something happens with her powers, and it is revealed that she is something greater.
Follows the books of Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising.

Also, this book is similar to Heir of Merlin, where I will be borrowing tidbits from the books. A/N: It started as a Darkling x OC book. But I couldn't justify that for the second season. So, for the second season, it has become a Nikolai x OC book. (I blame Ben Barnes even though I had read the books and knew what was coming, it still started with the Darkling, but then Nikolai swaggered onto the screen, and it just had to change!) Season 1: The Darkling was quite happy to keep to himself, locking everybody out. But that was hard when a chatty hyper healer was determined to get his attention without even realising it.
