On the way to a tenth Mortal Kombat tournament, a troubled Raiden- - Lord of thunder and protector of Earthrealm- - tells his friend and protege Liu Kang the story of Shang Tsung (evil sorcerer and proctor of the tournament on behalf of Outworld) in a bid to prepare him for what they are about to face during the tournament. 

(This fan fiction is intended to create a more extensive backstory for Shang Tsung, since he was never really provided much depth in the story of any of the games. This is also set during the "new timeline" so just before the events of Mortal Kombat 9 aka Mortal Kombat 2011. Fair warning, I am writing this with the intent that the reader already is at least familiar with the story of Mortal Kombat.)

Raiden, seeing Manado's situation, decides to train Manado in the ways of kombat as his new champion. Then the mortal kombat tournament occurs and Manado finds himself reuniting with his rescuer and strange things start to occur, namely him finding out that a lot of the ladies find themselves attracted to him, much to his confusion.
