Izuku Midoriya is a young merman-seahorse hybrid living in the underwater kingdom of yuueii. Due to a treaty between the above kingdom, Netsuu, every 10 years, a mer is to be sent to Netsuu and bears a child for the next in line for the throne. In return, no wars will be waged and protection is brought to the sea creatures. This year, Izuku is chosen as the 'lucky' mer to bear the child of prince Shoto, (as he's part seahorse he's able to even though there's more complications in real life with seahorses). After the child is born, he is to be sent back to the mer kingdom, where he will be alone without love or his child.
