With no choice but to look to the stars for a means to save their kind from complete annihilation, the xandisians set out to find a race compatible with their own. after many years and countless failed expeditions, they finally find a species that matches their base DNA on a planet called Earth. The only issue now is how humans will react. We headed north for a day, or what i thought was north, to be honest, I couldn't tell. The pain from my leg was making my mind blur and each passing minute was pure agony. Nutmeg was beginning to tire and the pups, well I had to pick them up a while back, they kept on falling behind. I suppose I'm lucky in some ways, one of them been that it's spring and not winter but the wind is still cold, its always so cold... Hope I make this book as good as the last one. This story is about a 16 year old girl named Melody Swift. Ever since her mother died, her so-called "father" started abusing her. Kids at school are cruel, they bully her brutally just because she's different. She simply waits for everything to get better, after all what's the point in trying when the world will do whatever they can to drag you down. Her only escape from this twisted reality is a creature named Shadow. A terrifying creature that is somehow more humane than the so-called humans around her. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended. Unfortunately this story doesn't have a happy ending, after all karma always strikes back.
