Eviana is tired of her royal life. Or lack thereof. Princess of Aviritis means she's expected to do what's best for her country but most of the time that means she has to sit through court dinners and smile at others. And marry who she's been betrothed to since birth, a prince from a neighboring kingdom. But she wants to be her own ruler, free of a man's control.
Nikolai hates his father. And basically the rest of his court as well. But he can't show it, else he would be disposed of as quicker than you could blink. So he's played along, making his own plans in the shadows, waiting for the time to strike. Of course to keep up his appearances, he has to make friends with his betrothed.
His time in Aviritis could make or break both of them, and put the world at risk.
