The Afton family has settled into a new phase of their lives, finding a sense of stability and routine after years of ups and downs. He's doing better in school and has begun to make a few friends, slowly coming out of his shell. Elizabeth, the youngest, continues to be the spirited heart of the family. She's now in school, making friends easily with her outgoing personality. Her curiosity about her father's work remains, though Clara and William are careful to keep her at a safe distance from the more dangerous aspects of the business.
