The Eighth Doctor is summoned back to Gallifrey as tensions between the Time Lords and the Dalek Empire come to a head. What will the Doctor do as the universe is consumed by war?
Covers the Time War, from right before it breaks out until the Eighth Doctor regenerates. (There is a part 2 with the War Doctor)
Intended to do the Time War justice to what it was described and implied to be, which "The Day of the Doctor" and "Engines of War" fell short of.

Doctor Who: The Thirteen Doctors and the Menagerie
Somewhere in time, all thirteen Doctors receive the same distress call from an impossibly large ship on the edge of the Milky Way. As each Doctor views the transmission differently according to his vastly varying personalities, the thirteen men and their companions set course to the massive vessel. But is it truly someone in need, or the most elaborate trap the Doctor had ever encountered? Join the Doctors, his most popular companions, and two surprise guests as they unravel the mystery of the Menagerie! This was fun to write, as I have been a fan of Doctor Who since I was nine years old during the Tom Baker era. I studied hard to try to capture each Doctor's personality as they speak and interact, although I do admit that having a cast of 28 causes several characters to get lost within the dialogue. I made this as canonically correct as possible, pulling each Doctor and his corresponding companion from episodes to make this possible, but if you catch me in an error... I claim AU! Ha ha. It is for all intents and purposes a Capaldi episode, within his first season, long before Face the Raven. This is a Doctor Who fanfic for superfans only, as the entire first section only describes each Doctor by his attire, so you have to guess which is which by their apparel and companions. If you aren't familiar with each and every Doctor, this story will get very confusing. That being said, I hope you enjoy!Complete

Exploration across the lunar surface has become increasingly regular as the growth of the Omicron stations increases. Mankind is about to uncover a hostile alien entity that lies embedded deep within the crusts of the lunar surface. The arrival of a mysterious alien time traveller worsens the suspicion created among the explorers of the Omicron settlers. Accidents on the lunar surface become frequent happenings. The entities that emerge to invade Omicron 4 begin to seep in and feed on the humans. The Doctor realises that if the entities were to reach the other stations and Earth, the human race would become the livestock of an all-consuming alien race. As the Time War rages for the sake of the whole of the creation, the Daleks infiltrate time and space to change the course of events in their aid to bring about the destruction of the Time Lords and fulfil their supreme role within the universe. The War Doctor delves into the past, present, and future of the Dalek race to find a weakness or a preventative in ending the Last Great Time War. When analysing the events of past timelines, the Doctor discovers the horror of the plans the Daleks lay for the Time Lords and the rest of the universe, engineered by dreaded Dalek creator Davros himself... As disturbing and frightening events are made possible, the Doctor and Davros are taken on a journey which sees the two forge and collaborate to bring the Time War to an end. Their differences remain unsettled, and the pair would hardly willingly work with each other, but the Doctor and Davros believe in preventing the Time War from destroying all forms of life in the universe - Time Lord and Dalek alike. We see Davros begin to die. His bodily organs and life support systems give in to the struggles of his crippled, decayed physical state. The fates of the Doctor and Davros are planned. Davros is prepared to advance to the survival of his people at any cost.
