All it took was a single slip of a blade. Cool metal warming as it pierces cloth and skin and bone and organ. The body of a teen going limp on the hilt of a god's sword.

    Below them, the grass stained golden. Far above them, a single string was cut, and farther above still, a star, gleaming and bright, went out.
