This story was inspired by the game 'Barotrauma'. In a nutshell, Barotrauma is a multiplayer sci-fi horror submarine management simulator... in space. You play as one of the crewmembers aboard, and have to constrantly struggle for the survival of you and your crewmates in the dangerous subsurface ocean of Europa - a moon of Jupiter, one of the few places in our solar system where scientists theorize the existence of alien life even in real life...

The average thickness of the Europan ice crust is 20 kilometres. If a submarine on Earth has a leak, you can perhaps hope the emergency blow gets you back onto the surface so you can escape before it sinks. But on Europa, twenty kilometres under the surface of the ice, if something goes wrong, there is no coming back. One of the most likely causes of death for the settlers of this frigid ocean, is barotrauma.All Rights Reserved

I can't believe you actually-" Before he can finish his sentence six thick orange arms reach out of the hole and grab him at a sickening speed. He doesn't even have time to blink before the arms squeeze and his whole body explodes. Guts and blood shower the room and we all scream in horror. We run towards the door but all of a sudden the floor seemingly gives way into a bright blue nothingness and the room shimmers away around us. We fall. ' Europa follows a group of teenagers/aspiring scientists who accidentally open a portal to another world, becoming trapped there. They must race against time to make it home, save themselves and their planet before the natural elements or horrifying other worldly creatures take them out.
