Perri was left for dead on the forest floor. Used up and dying on the blood stained winter snow. But after her last breath escapes and her watery lashes lower for the last time Nature watches the horrid betrayal with tears in her eyes. And shaking her head fervently commands vines to cover her bare and broken body, and she saves her. When Perri's eyes reopen she has the power to control plants, talk to animals, and command elements. Her body is covered in vivid flower tattoos and her hair falls to her butt long and fiery red. She has anoher shot at life. And this time, she will not be broken, she will break them all.

Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? And all you have to do is protect yourself and everyone you love from your ex best friend/sidekick --because let's face it that's the highest level of praise for a wretched traitor here--and you also have to get out of Super Holding somehow? Now, not only does he have to deal with school, his almost non existent social life and his aggravating younger brother, but he also has to fight super villains and learn to control his new found powers to avoid blowing his cover to the world...and it is a lot harder than he anticipated. Prepare for a roller coaster ride of lame one liners and painfully awkward adolescent behaviour, along with bromances and romances, breakups and make ups, and even some cliché superhero behaviour, villains who hold a grudge, and really dorky super suits. Her long black hair sticks to her pale face, her black eyes blank as she stares at the body laying at her feet." Life has always been hard for the dark hero, and the final straw was when her girlfriend becomes abusive. After a fight with her twin ends in his death, she goes undercover as a villian to stop government documents from being stolen. It's also a nice distraction from her past. However, when she catches a young hero's attention will she be able to continue her mission or will it all go downhill? After years of abuse, this sparky hero flees her family before they can marry her off. Life becomes interesting when a dark villain catches her eye. Can she break through their walls or will fate tear them apart? ((Trigger warning for rape,domestic violence, and child loss. I wanted to make a hero that shows even the toughest of people struggle with issues like dv and rape, and it's ok to ask for help.))Complete

****IN EDITING**** Liza was used to living in the shadows. By day she works in the cafe on the corner of 6th and Main Street. But by night, she lays in her room singing songs that no one will ever hear as tears stain her pillows. 20 years ago, her father was the most beloved Superhero, Sunburst, but age has taken its toll on him and his gone into hiding as and every day joe. Too many nights at the bar have left him in an vengeful trance, and he take his anger out on the only person left with him. Confusion had turned his heart cold as he figures out the he was never a hero. He just wanted the attention, but a conscience got the best of him and he retreated into hiding. Now the only thing he wants to do is tell that mysterious girl he met years ago that she was right. That he wasn't a hero. So everyday he sits in a cafe, trying to work up courage to say hello the the girl who serves him coffee every day. *Based on my superhero alter-ego and concept that I have created as a child and that I believed in* In that moment in the nature was born a flower. Actually, five different flowers. It wouldn't be a big deal on its own if that weren't Pink Tulip, Red Carnation, Yellow Dandelion, White Hyacinth and me, Blue Rose, superheroes that must defeat five enemies who want to subdue or destroy humankind because of various reasons. Still, is sometimes harder to defeat yourself than someone else? Could superhero also be the biggest villain when his powers lose control? And how is possible to balance a team that has persons with opposite attitudes, can we all together fight on the same side even when our opinions collide?
