As a young girl, Dahlia lost both of her parents in an accident. Two years later, she got adopted by Sarah and David White.

The two adult Whites were pure blood Slytherins, and also one of the richest wizard families in the world.

Her best friend, Remus, lived next door to her since she was adopted until they turned eleven, the two being heartbroken when they realized they would be going to different schools. They haven't seen each other since, but they write each other weekly.

There isn't much that the two best friends don't know about each other, and they think of one another more like siblings. Remus even told Dahlia about the werewolf thing. But, the one thing that Dahlia hasn't shared with him, is what her home life is like. And she never plans to.

Growing up, Dahlia helped Remus when he transformed into his werewolf state, as she was an animagus herself.

When Dahlia gets kicked out of Beauxbatons at the end of her fourth year, her adopted parents speak with Dumbledore, enrolling her at Hogwarts. She is ecstatic to not only get away from her adopted parents once more, but to be able to go to the same school as her childhood best friend.

After arriving at Hogwarts, Dahlia is almost immediately welcomed into his friend group, even receiving a new nickname herself. Reluctantly opening herself up to one of the Marauders, she forms an unexpected bond that no one expected to see.
