"Lisa,come closer." My sick mother managed to croak in a voice that didn't sound like her own. She had been quite ill for a while now,all efforts to take the best care of her had proved abortive as our relatives refused to help with the hospital fees,they all had their responsibilities after all.
I stood up silently from my dimly lit corner of the room and strode towards her small bed by the window with a heavy heart,
"Ma...."I started. "we have some food left in the kitchen, would you like some?"
