This is a story about friendship and radio silence, panic and loss and about finding something that was really always there. But perhaps this is really a story about lakes, rocks and ripples. Because - at the heart - that's really what 9/11 is. Alternating POV * ** * Disclaimer: I do not own Elementary; I am not personally connected to 9/11; I do not speak for anyone; this is simply a work of fiction designed to work through feelings and emotions. AN: I'm not sure this is absolutely my favorite story, but it is definitely the one I am most proud of. It's not actually a style I'm used to, but I was feeling emotional and inspired and I thought to myself 'let's see where this idea leads' and things had gone off the rails before I realized. This is the story that burned me out, I think, but it's also therapeutic for me because there were some things that needed to come out despite having no 'real' connection to 9/11. Please no spoilers in the comments - I haven't seen The Finale yet -, but I am reasonably certain that there are no spoilers in this story. Just in case, please familiarize yourself with at least up to Season/Series 5 episode 'Fidelity' and know the following characters: Ms. Hudson, Lin, Alfredo, Kitty, Archie and a few others including Mason of the Irregulars. Rating: I have a problem with rating this story, because of a variety of reasons. On the one hand, I understand 'Mature'. On the other, it's 9/11. Fully grown adults back then are still having trouble understanding it now. How is something like this supposed to be categorized? Kids get dragged into natural and manmade disasters and tragedies, but this is on a whole different level and they have to learn about 9/11. If pressed, I can rate it 'M', but I think it is best left 'Unrated'.Complete

A delayed flight. A stranger at a hotel bar. A one night stand. Stranded in New York for an extra night than planned due to a delayed flight, I needed to find a way to keep myself occupied, and I soon found that something. It was easy enough when the handsome stranger introduced himself to me as Kade. It has been a while since I have had a hot one-night stand, and he reminds me how fun it can be. After my escape, and yet another but brutal last year at the same high school, my school sent me their condolences and made sure to inform my future college of my past. I didn't bother to say goodbye to my "friends" or Preston, my ex. The police allowed me to change things, including changing my name & hair, but other than that, I was still me. Once I got my new identity, I tried to start anew. Moving me to a new place was the best thing the police and Dr Matthews allowed me to do, but it still didn't stop this nudging feeling that kept coming over me. I don't know why, but for some reason, I could tell that my kidnapper (Mr Blue) was going to come back for me. --- On the two year anniversary since my abduction, the past comes back to haunt me.
