Nyx was a normal girl. She had friends, went to a good school, had a loving mom and dad, she even had a crush. She loved going to the beach, especially at night when she could see the moon reflecting on the water. Her life was normal, just like her.
One night, she felt restless. She opened her window and smelled the salty air, a cool breeze blowing her raven black hair gently around her. She climbed out and dropped gently on the grass. She made her way to the ocean, her backpack slung over her shoulders and strapped across her chest. She hid under the boardwalk and changed into her favorite bathing suit, a black one piece with a crisscross back, leaving her bag hidden behind a rock. She dove gracefully into the water and started swimming.
Almost as suddenly as turning in a light, a storm began to brew. She tried to swim back to shore, but she got caught in a rip current and was pulled further out. She managed to stay above the water for a while, but when she was finally released she had no idea where she was, plus the storm was still causing the waves to crash over her head and she could hardly see through the rain. She struggled to stay afloat, but black began to close in around her.
Just before she passed out, she saw a flicker of scales. It was a large... fish? Dolphin?
She woke up on an island. In the middle of nowhere. As she walked around, she saw a cave entrance out of the corner of her eyes. She went inside to find a cave half submerged in water. Was it an exit? It didn't look very deep. She lowered herself in and when she opened her eyes, she saw a necklace resting on the bottom. She picked it up and it glowed faintly. It had pearls tied every inch or so, and a beautiful sea shell in the middle. She put it around her neck and it glowed even more.
As she climbed back out of the water, she wondered about the necklace. What did it mean?
Could your deep fear of water be cured by the power of love and unearthly sinful sex?
Monica Eulice's fear is common, half the world fears the deep dark depths of the ocean. Not so much the ocean itself but rather what lurks within. Invincible to the eye but it watches you. As a child she has always been drawn to nature, that soon took a turn. without warning that same day, an angry storm suddenly approached, untamed and strong the ocean follows seconds later burying the once known horizon under ten feet of murky waters.
Months after the disaster the water suddenly trails back to sea bringing along hundredths of corpses. Few left on the beaches with stomachs ripped out and chewed, some without a torso most without arms. What could have happened? One day strolling around with her nanny, Monica sensed something amiss. A dreadful feeling creeping up onto her from behind, eyes following her tiny form, yet there seems to be no one around.
Mindful of the creeping danger she lunged too high up on a rock slipping when the heel of her feet couldn't latch on. Seconds away from crashing her skull onto rocks when she felt her body being levitated. Peeling her eyes open, the water somehow caught her in the air, water can't do that. At least not on its own, all she was able to see was the whip of a tail.
Little did she know that tail would lead to something she wasn't prepared for, a friendship she never asked for, and a delicious man she didn't expect with craving she isn't ready for.
Though she is a vegetarian, she just couldn't resist his meat.
