Alex asks, "Are you single?" He's not sure being so abrupt is the best way to do things with Matt but he can't stand to beat around the bush with him. Honestly, he just wanted to know the truth. He wanted Matt to be aware of where his own head was at.
Surprisingly, Matt smiles. "What? Just because I turned you down at the party, you assume I'm in a relationship?" He's teasing, he knows that, but the tone of Alex's voice makes him feel a little more in control. Matt won't admit it out loud but he enjoys the dark look that appears in Alex's eyes at his comment. "I'm single, Alex."
The taller boy nods, nudging his knee against Matt's, "Good to know."
Seeing the slight flush that has reappeared on Alex's confident face, Matt continues, "Are you going to hit on me again?"
"Yes," another smirk. "Is that okay?"
Alex shift his body back towards the envelopes, still smiling softly. "I'm not sure yet."
