Long ago, the ruler of hell, Lucifer, created eight demons and made a vessel of each of their bodies. Each demon carried an egg formed from Lucifer, and each of Lucifer's maidens.

In short, when each egg had completed their transition, Lucifer was granted with eight sons.

Growing up, each of the brothers were friends, they laughed and played when they weren't practicing on their hellish duties but as time went on, Lucifer realized that in order to defeat the God of Heaven, he would need powerful, and remarkable people to do it.

In doing so, he gave each of his children a certain quality and sent them off to Earth to raid the humans and feed off their sins. All sons except for Azrael.

Why Azrael wasn't meant for Earth he would never know, but he dreamt of going to Earth one day, finding his brothers and catching up with them, playing and laughing again, all before time ran out.
