[Book Four of the "Patrons' World" series. Part one of the Ankūro Trilogy.]

Life in Kaima village was always slow and difficult.

Rice would be planted, the rains come, then the harvest, then the bandit raids.

For Ka house owner Ajo, his daughter Tiima and village Headwoman, Apē, the seasons passed in a never-ending, constant cycle. Nothing changed. Nothing happened.

Until the arrival of a strange, old woman threatens to to bring everything crashing down. With lies, secrets and hidden passions revealed in the woman's wake, can the village survive? Or will Ajo, Tiima and Apē regret the day Ankūro came to Kaima?

A fantasy story, set in "Patrons' World". Inspired by the samurai movies of Akira Kurosawa and written, in it's entirety, during NaNoWriMo, November 2020.

See also the sequels: 'Siinji' and 'Kaguta'.

Do your genes, your parents, teachers, or your master determine who you will be in life? Can they set your value in the universe? 650 years ago the known species of the universe came together and signed the Alliance, a document that would help each race find its place in the universe. It granted freedom to some and the scant protection of slavery to others. Into this society a handful of children are born who will change it forever, if they can survive to adulthood. Here is the origin story of two of those children. Hathu is born to a man determined to make the universe bow to him and his species. Since he learned to talk, Hathu has been a disappointment to his father. He doesn't want to become a warrior, and he refuses to assert his dominance. When he accidentally overhears his father plotting against the Ir'Klahn empire, can Hathu stop him? Mik is born with no rights, destined to become a lifelong slave. His mother tries to protect him from this fate by running away and finding a home for them on a trading ship that travels from world to world. They are safe for now, but how long can they hide from the best trackers in the universe? This is the first book in the My Kingdom Come series. Updates every Tuesday. :) My 2021 Nanowrimo so please excuse the unedited condition of the story. Be warned: there is violence, rape, murder, abuse, self harm and suicidal thoughts in this story. NANOWRIMO 2019, LET'S GO! :) U.S Army veteran Alessio Milani never asked for the hand fate dealt him. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, which led him into the depths of NYC's criminal underground. Now, as director of the infamous smuggling and counterfeiting syndicate known as "The Flight," he commands respect from his people with a just but iron fist, operating with only a few cardinal rules: 1) Keep it clean. 2) No dealing in people. 3) Never touch women without their consent. Alessio takes care of violators personally. He never desired marriage. Considering his clandestine (and illegal) profession, the notion never crossed his mind. The less people known to be associated with him, the less individuals he puts at risk. He finds himself at the altar, however, with a shy bride because his best friend, Thaddeus Andino, asked Alessio to protect his niece...and, well, Alessio's instincts kicked in, and he couldn't say no. He doesn't know how he's going to make this work, and neither does Vasilisa Andino--nay, Vasilisa Milani. Alessio tries to keep her life separate from his as much as possible...but Murphy's law seems to rule differently. Only God knows what'll happen next.
