Life has never been simple for Kaitlyn Paige. From the very beginning of her youth she has known pain. 

After the mysterious death of her mother, Kaitlyn's body had stopped aging, and she didn't know why.

She has been stuck in the body of a 17-year-old since 1864, and has spent her whole life running away from curious doctors, only once getting caught.

It is the year 2010 when she finally arrives at the city of Mystic Falls, expecting a peaceful life.
