A tale of three colours is a peaceful yet thought provoking novel with a hint of fantasy and existentialism. 

Under the milky moonlight yamanshi lies awake asking himself the same dark questions over and over.

After his family and dango cafe perishes in a fire yamanshi loses all sense of direction in life. The once vibrant colours of pink, white and green blend into one useless mass of grey. 

Until he meets Hana, the girl with a strange way of living that seems to always keep a smile on her face. There always seems to be a glow of good around here and not a hint of evil. Happiness, fulfilment and purpose do not exist! Or do they? 

A tale of three colours is a peaceful but intriguing read, with plenty of pink, white and green dashes along the way!

The change is strange and overwhelming, he soon comes to realise. There's colour in everything. Yuji observes the way the sky rises with yellow and oranges, to set with blues that fade to pinks and purples, only to end with a deep black. He sees the way the sun burns so bright, the otherwise harmless yellow burning his eyes until he's forced to look away. The green of the grass and the vibrancy resulted from hours of costly care.
