I've dreamed of the perfect marriage ever since I was a little girl: a marriage complete with a hardworking husband while I tended to the home and our children, preferably four little rugrats to call my own. I dreamed of a life filled with laughter, joy, and success, a life we built together. I dreamed of growing old next to my husband, creating a great love story to tell our grandchildren someday. It all seemed so possible. I was raised to be the perfect wife, after all. From the outside, it seemed I had exactly what I dreamed of with the rich, determined husband; the brilliant, gaudy diamond ring; and the beautiful home filled with the hope of future children. Yes, it was all a dream come true. I should have felt grateful, really. The problem is, I also wanted a marriage based on love, passion, and affection, but those are the only things my husband cannot give me . . . . . . because they're reserved for her. The purpose of this poetry book is one of defiance. Not to others, or anything in particular. It is against the war we wage internally, against ourselves every day. There is no bigger challenge in life than facing your thoughts, your true emotions, your feelings when you lie alone at night by yourself, cornered. We tend to postpone them, shelf them, as we grow accustomed to our daily activities, never giving ourselves a chance to evaluate ourselves. Who are we? what do we lack? what do we need? In this book, I took it upon myself to air out all of my grievances, my intimate thoughts, my happiness, my disappointments, my sadness all out in the open, for all to see. I wanted to face it all. To stare my mortality dead in the eyes, and let the lingering stare sit, I wanted to simmer the feeling of weakness, of every single type of emotion, completely digest it, and let it manifest genuinely, reading it, again and again, perfecting it, again and again, until the feeling of pain subsides. I there is anything that I want you to take from this book, is time. Yes, just a word, time. It goes by, so have not regrets, and never leave something from saying. She looked at all of them with hopeful eyes. No one belived her. Except Him ! She didn't expect him to believe her out of all the people. She had expected some vile remarks and insults which she was used to. But life is cruel in wicked ways. It shows you the most beautiful things at the worst possible time and with the worst possible scenarios. "Your wife is going to be the unluckiest, I swear. God bless her already. Because she is going to need all the blessing she could get, to have her sanity after being married to a vain, controlling, conceited and..... and... a jerk like you." She was looking for words to describe him but had settled for 'jerk' in the end. Little did she know , that those words were going to bite her in the rare when she finds herself married to a man , she thought she hated his guts. The funny part was, she choose to get married to him and a small part of her was glad that it was him , instead of her harasser. Join Haya as she finds herself being rescued by the man she hated and who she thought hated her back. But there are things that doesn't meet the eyes. That we hide in our heart. And there were alot of secrets hidden in his heart. Things that either could destroy everything he had worked for or could bring him the peace and forever that he was looking for !!
