I watched, as he raised his gun at me. No, it was aimed at my heart, the very temple that worshipped him. I stood fearless and matched his gaze. Except mine were full of sympathy and his with betrayal. My life didn't flash in front, neither did my heart skip a beat, as though it knew, from the very beginning, it would either belong to him or it just wouldn't beat. Time did slow down for me, every second I burned under his hatred it did feel like a forever. Unfortunately, it didn't last long enough to calm him. I didn't move. And so the trigger was pulled and the wretched bullet met its destination.
