"I love you, Tony."

"..."

"Say it back." Stephen smiled, knowing his friend would break his stern gaze and return the favor.

Nothing happens.

"Tony?"

"I can't," he finally says after what felt like minutes of silence. When Stephen stood in shock he spoke again. "Because this time, I might mean it."

&&&&&&&&&

Being best friends for years has its perks. You know all their secrets, their behaviors, when they lie to you, what they're most likely to eat for breakfast - until one day that changes.

Suddenly it's like you forget certain things. How you perceive them, how they perceive you. And add the confusion with being thrust into the void of the universe, sorry, multiverse, and you'll get the life of Stephen Strange and Tony Stark. Two young boys who aren't ready for multi universal threats, yet face them anyway all the while one of them struggles with how he perceives the other.

And 'the other' has to conceal a secret for a long time, to protect his one friend.

Friendship comes and goes alongside the passage of time, but sometimes, the bonds between certain people are stronger than normal. Stephen Strange and Rachael Barrow grew up together, their bond wavering, but never breaking. Together, they've pushed through the trials of their lives and overcame countless obstacles. Their dreams, however, were far from similar. Rachael made a career out of her passion for acting and became one of the most well-known actresses in Broadway, while Stephen spent the majority of his thirty-three years of life learning to become a neurosurgeon, one of the best in the world. Though his success made him arrogant and haughty, the only person who he doesn't wave his success over is Rachael. But, one fateful night, Rachael and Stephen's bond of trust gets tested once more, pushed to its breaking point. Stephen's been in a car accident, and the nerves in his hands have been damaged to the extent where he can no longer hold a pen without shaking, making it impossible for him to operate as a neurosurgeon anymore. Eventually, Stephen started using alcohol to cope with his denial. Yet, that wasn't enough. Perhaps the East has a cure, a so-called 'Ancient One' to mend his nerves and let him operate once again. And so, he fled, so desperate that Rachael never even crossed his mind, not when he packed, not when he got on the plane. She didn't even know that he was leaving in the first place. HIGHEST RANKING: #1 IN #DOCTORSTRANGE (May 8, 2018) Disclaimer: Description written by @HoneyButterYum; go check out her great work! I do not own Doctor Strange or any of the characters or objects affiliated with him. All rights go to MARVEL. Rachael Barrow belongs to me. A/N: This story was started four months before the movie was released. Once the movie is out, I will brush up on the details but I will not change much.

28 parts Complete Mature

PLEASE VOTE AND SUPPORT YOUR YOUNG AUTHORS leave comments I'd love CONSTRUCTIVE criticism :D P.S: I decided to drop all of the chapter because of my first supporter :D love YOUU!! Tony Stark believes everything can be explained-especially magic. To him, Stephen Strange is just another stubborn anomaly in a world of equations. But when a reluctant collaboration turns into a reluctant friendship-then something far more dangerous-Tony finds himself unraveling in ways no armor can protect. With egos clashing and tension thick enough to cut, the line between science and magic blurs... and so does the line between enemies, allies, and lovers. A slow-burn IronStrange romance where surrender isn't weakness-it's the start of something terrifyingly real.
