Yes, he had asked her, expecting her to politely decline but she did the opposite, suggesting they go to a café that had some quirky name that Draco didn't find amusing.
Hermione had chosen it, so he didn't complain.
However, just like every relationship, the honeymoon phase began to fade, leaving them to decide whether they were truly made for one another.
