Love has a law and that it mandates being halal. Afreen would toss all that would force her to disobey her rabb, all that her friend got herself involved in. She believed unmistakably that what was not done by the permission of Allah would not come about and that what was not done for the sake of Allah would not last.
Life comprises more than what she had foreseen. From watching her friend shrunk to the misery of heartache to crossing paths with people carrying unconditional love for their spouses, through her sister-in-law and the lady at the orphanage, shifted her view about love to varied degrees.
