Psychologist Yua Watanabe has never been the most open person but when her best friend gave up on life in Japan, Yua felt like a piece of her did as well. She packed her things as soon as she finished preliminary schooling and moved to the states where her grandparents lived. Life wasn't going to give her a break, however, and a single touch from a stranger can send her into a state from which she worries she can never return. Still, she isn't quite ready to give up on life and with the urging of her friend, she allows a detective to live in her loft. This Detective Schmidt was not who she was expecting.
Sex crime detective Jamie Schmidt is tired of all the angst and stereotypical behavior of those who simply don't understand her. First, her girlfriend kicks her out and then she must live with her highly religious Catholic father and his new "ball and chain". She just wants to get this case she's been confined to taken care of and move into a nice place with her little sister. What she wasn't planning on was the woman who's loft guest room she decides to rent.
