Roxanne is just out of college, working at a hair salon where she becomes friends with her co-worker Brooklyn. The girls have lots in common but there's one thing that draws the line between similarities. Brooke's brother Malakai.
He's not one of those people who you see on the street and wave to, he's the kind you cross the street to avoid. There's nothing about him that doesn't scream scary. The cherry on top is his confusing personality.
Although Brooke stays out of his small racing life, she likes to go and support her brother. So when Roxi is invited to a race, and she's promised nothing bad will happen, she's not only on edge but distracted by the mysterious man with the tattoos and dark styled hair. That is, until the police show up and she's dragged away.

"Kai, please just let go and come talk." I say as tears roll down my cheeks. He shakes his head slowly and breathes heavily.
"Please don't cry, I hate when you cry." He says softly.
"Then come with me, they wouldn't want this for you." I say as I grab his hand. "I dare you Kai, I dare you to drop it and come with me."
He looks down sadly before looking up as tears burn his cheeks. "A dare is a dare." He replies as I nod and hold his hand in mine.
"And I dare you to not do it."
