Trapped In A Blocky Wonderland | Dream Team x Reader
Have you ever felt like you don't belong? Like this place you're in doesn't feel right? Like you should be somewhere else entirely? This isn't right... Are you supposed to be able to fell a tree with your fists? Are you supposed to be able to pick up little blocks in place of normal items? Are the dead supposed to rise and walk the lands? Is that tall, lanky monster with glowing purple eyes that teleports around normal? Is any of this normal? This just isn't right... Should I be here? Well, at least I'm not stuck here alone. The Amazing Prison Life of Dream
Dream, after many months of contemplating, decides to finally start writing a diary. In his diary he writes about, feelings, memories, life in prison, and his many interesting attempts at staying entertained. All the chapters that are uploaded are un-edited. (edit) I forgot to add that this started out as a confessional journal about becoming clean after a 10 year + addiction to OTC cold meds, but that was not my style of writing, I liked the material so I wanted to expand it into a novel length work featuring the journal elements. To say this work is a roller coaster would put it lightly. Although there are elements of time travel I would consider my sudden transitions reality travel. I use actual experience and dreams as a foundation, then toss in some fourth wall breaking narratives (meta-fiction), with a sprinkling of facts and quotations from songs and factual articles. It tends to be written similarly to an essay sans the boring. I have been influenced strongly by Vonnegut and W. S. Burroughs , and a wide variety of album rock, and that bleeds through. The tags dystopian and dark humor describe the whole piece best but there is a lot of genre jumping. I've done a good deal of research, not just for factual things but for the type of writing I do. Although not technically fan fiction, there is a nod to Final Fantasy games. The cover photo is a shared copyright, Brian Barbour took the photo, I added treatments.Complete
