There is a saying, and it goes like this:
"Humans aren't always going to behave as we think we all should, for we can be bad, as we can be good."

Only the bad has outrun the good. After the 'Devastation' occurred, monsters did not only live inside humans. They lived on the bare crust of the earth. Everything was left to die; the flowers, the trees, the animals, the humans. The world had become corrupt.

And that was when the bases came into play. Paix, Pratique, and Préjudice. The three that branched off from the suburban original; the Quarter Base. They were designed to protect each other, although they were only a distraction from the real world beyond the boundaries of a 'perfect life'.

That was what Jake Lawson and his partner Marie Wyatt had feared from the very start. But there were more secrets kept beyond the golden bars of the Quarter Base- and they were only just about to find out the devastating truth of their real past.

What had happened all those many years ago.

//ENTERED IN THE WATTYS 2015. Death Bringer now has a sequel: Deadly Nightshade.

Soon after we learnt that we weren't the only species people began going missing. Some were unlucky and taken as something that the Beasts called a Mate that one word made fear spread throughout my veins, I would rather sell my soul than have one of them mutts chain me to them. Only one of them came back, two months was the longest we lasted before we were overpowered by them. Six years of living in this dysfunctional environment and my hatred had never dwindled. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)

((This is targeted to people 16+)) The smell of blood was overwhelming. The scent of the short teen used to have was gone, replaced with the putrid smell of death and rot that covered the whole room and the killer himself. Blood smudged all over the teen and onto the older man as he attempted to escape. He got hungry and tired. He just wanted to eat and then sleep. He was preparing the girl, cutting her body apart and tearing the flesh off the bones, which is why the room was such a mess with her blood. Now, he had the boy in his hands. The hunger overtook him. The sharp pain of large "canine" teeth being plunged into his neck made Cameron scream. It was cut short, his whole body freezing up as the crazy man sunk his large fangs into his neck, ripping a large chunk of the boy's flesh in between his teeth. The pain only got worse when he felt the killer tug harshly, pulling his flesh out... ----- A gang of delinquents becomes lost in a forest, pursued by a frightening masked figure. He hunts them down individually, resembling a stalking wolf, wielding a crude knife fashioned from animal bones. As they struggle to survive, the teens also grapple with the harsh environment that challenges them. Throughout their ordeal, they discover more about one another, forming deeper connections as they begin to share their lives with one another. ----- ⚠️ WARNINGS ⚠️: - Gore, violent description of violence, - Cannibalism(not shown but alluded), - Death, - Descriptions of PTSD and trauma, - Abusive parents, mistreatment of children, - Foul, harmful language, - Nothing is real, this is a work of fiction,

Louisa isn't like the others. She does not have friends to take home after school. She doesn't even go to school. After her condition got this worse, she was told not to go to school anymore. She started pushing her friends away as well, in the thoughts of "protecting" them from getting hurt. After she finds out life is short, she starts living for her fullest, almost forgetting the fact she is dying. "Today, I realized, I am still alive. Like, for real. I do have cancer and I may be dying, but aren't we all?" - Louisa Way (quoted from the novel) This is a story about living your life, while it's there, love, family, friendship and moving on.
