Imagine a world where your nightmares are real. A man created a device that is infused in your brain at birth so your nightmares become real. If someone you know, let's say dies in your nightmare. They die in real life. Same goes for if you die in the nightmare, you die in real life. My name is Lucas Hiltz and I didn't have the device infused into my brain. My nightmares don't become real. My mission, stop the man who invented this device and rescue humanity from the nightmares that haunt them every night.

nightmare was getting tired of his (not brother) dream trying kill him every single day. just because he in crime list with is group cross and error. When Ink is exploring the au's, he stumbles upon a new au where he meets a new friend named Nightmare. The both of them create a close bond, and Nightmare explains how the villagers mistreats him and how they treasure Dream. Ink knew Dream for awhile, but Dream never mentions Nightmare. One day Nightmare had enough of the villagers and ate the apple of negativity and leaves Dreamtale empty.
