The weretiger and the rabid dog have yet again been paired with each other to face a common enemy the PM and the ADA shared, by the persuasion of Osamu. Both parties had dreaded the combining of the two forces. Atsushi would much rather work alone and come close to death rather than work with someone who exuded such gloomy, blood lustrous aura, much less someone who thought of himself as a monster-- Akutagawa felt the same way. He felt as if he was more than capable enough to manage on his own, even at the brim of death. Their pessimistic mindsets and negative views about each other caused them to be oblivious to how compatible as a team they were, how smoothly their rhythm could be if it weren't interrupted by petty quarrels. However, a surprise came at the end of the fight. Akutagawa had jumped in front of someone who he presumably considered his biggest rival, taking a painful hit for Atsushi. Though weretiger wasn't the only one who would've gotten an unexpected surprise. Akutagawa- who was expecting no gratitude from someone who equally hated him as much - got scolded... a lecture followed by shaky voices and words he never thought he would hear. And a confession.
But due to both of their stubborn natures, it was not surprising when the scolding ended in an exchange of insults. Both injured and wrecked, it was far too late to go back home. The only option they had was to book a relatively decent, but budget-safe, motel with any money they had on them. After discovering the alcohol bottles in the mini fridge, exhausted Atsushi gave in. Many more insults and tears were exchanged during the time he was slowly becoming tipsy, having a much higher alcohol tolerance than the rabid dog he had to stay with for the night. Even after a much-needed shower, the drinking didn't stop there. Before either of them knew it, their anger turned into eager lust, both with a certain itch to scratch.
