This is a take on how I believe Prodigal Son would go if there was a season 3 (Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen the season 2 finale) Malcolm Bright is arrested for "attempted homicide" after stabbing his father Dr. Martin Whitly (The Surgeon) in Vermont. Sometime later, the Surgeon escaped from the hospital and is on the run while his son remained in Claremont Psychiatric Hospital. A young consulting detective named Charlotte "Charlie" Barnes joins the NYPD fresh out of the police academy, who also happened to be the daughter of a serial killer known as The Slasher's Wife aka Amanda Barnes. By working together, cases must be solved along with the whereabouts of the Surgeon before his kill list grows even higher than before. Secrets will be revealed, lives will be at stake, and God knows what else would come for the NYPD and Malcolm Bright.
