Catalina Cohen Lariosa is a grade 12 student whose life is as miserable as hell, she often visits the National Library of the Philippines not to read but to sleep. Her aunt and cousin are treating her badly, reason why she wants an escape.

And an old red book will give her that flee, when she stumbled upon it in the library and read the translation of the book's first page. She's sucked inside the book's world and became the priestess of Suzaku, the beast God of the south that guards the empire of Konan.

She accepted the title and is bound to gather the seven celestial warriors in order to summon Suzaku, the God of love, and obtain three wishes. Catalina fell in love with the young and handsome celestial warrior, Tamahome, who eventually fell in love with her.

Their quest to gather all the celestial warriors was rocky, they met both allies and enemies along their way. But the hardest test was when another priestess came to represent Seiryuu, the God of the East that guards Kutou.
