Taylor is left scared and alone when her parents disappear and so does everyone else. She then meets James, who vows to stay with her and protect her. Most of the humans may be gone, but they have been replaced by creatures hidden in the darkness. One, Xander Monroe, King of the vampires, has taken an interest in Taylor. He wants her, and he always gets what he wants. Will James be able to save her from him or will she fall into the claws of the vamp?
