Does this remind you of our modern age?

This was a very quick piece I wrote for an assignment. As I was reading "The Great Gatsby," which is an epitome of Scott Fitzgerald describing his era, the assignment wanted me to either attempt to write about the Jazz Age, or to convey the spirit of our age.
I wrote it rushed and tried to cram in as much as I can, so it may sound "too this or that" at times lol. But I still wanted to share it.
