Lucy Dalton's life was pleasant and simple. She made music with her band and studied hard for Year 12. She was content with the fact her life had little drama apart from the occasional awkward encounter with her neighbour and childhood friend, Ben. 

Yet, in the thick of a sweltering Australian summer, everything in Lucy's world begins to change. She is completely blindsided by the guitarist of her band, Noah's, confession of feelings for her. Noah sees no choice but to leave the band and everything they worked for.

Lucy is forced to ask neighbour and highly talented, Ben to join her band. With their lives becoming increasingly intertwined - Lucy becomes confused about how she really feels towards Ben.

The confusion only grows when Ben's older brother, and Lucy's childhood crush, Will, enters the scene.
