Taylor, a beautiful and young college student, ready to take on the world with her quick wit and incredible talent for reporting and journalism, soon finds herself in a sticky situation. Did she dig too deep into the wrong persons story? Tanner, a handsome and mature yet shy student studying law. He wants to go into the police force as a detective, possibly a private detective. He's only taking a few law classes for fun before he goes to the police academy. What will happen when they try to solve a mystery together? Will they help or hurt each other? Or along the way, will they somehow fall in love without trying to? ~ I say, "I'm sorry..." as my breathing is uneasy. "Don't be," he bends down to help pick up the mixture of books and papers and coffee I just spilt everywhere. "Are you okay? You seem disturbed." He lays his hand on mine and 8 can't help but look up, "Umm, to be honest, no, but that's not any of your business. Sorry again." I break the eye contact. "It can be if someone is trying to hurt you." He stops me again. "H- How did you..." I stop and am now looking him dead in the eye. "This is gonna sound creepy, but I've been watching you." He looks panicked, "Not in a creepy way though!" "What?" I keep eye contact. "I've just been observing you. That sounds awful." He looks and sounds even more panicked than before, "I mean, I think you're beautiful and I just didn't know how to approach you. I tend to be socially awkward with girls I have an interest in and I didn't want to scare you off..." He trails off, "But when I see you around, my gaze gravitates towards you," he sighs, "I sound like a total creep. I'm sorry." He pauses, "I've noticed you've been looking over your shoulder a lot and are in a rush in the halls. Almost like you're running away from something..." His eyes meet mine and I can tell he's being genuine, "I can help you." he says sympathetically. I nod and whisper, "He's always knows where I am and always knows my next move."

Saving Leah Series Book 7 "So what do you admire most about women?" I ask the man as he sips on his coffee. He smirks as he sets his cup down, acting as if my question was some sort of joke, "Her complete submission, of course." I hum, disproving greatly of this answer as well as all the others before. "Birdie is not the type of submissive to give complete submission easily. What is your plan with that?" I ask him. He just laughs, "Every submissive can be broken in, it is only a test of a dominant's will," he says with a smirk. I smile tightly and slide his application into my folder, having all the answers I need. "So when do I get to meet her?" He asks, suddenly standing as he sees me gathering my things. I smile for real now, taking great pleasure in this part of the project. "Birdie is a flame in need of stoking, not extinguishing. I appreciate your time, but I have a lot of other candidates-" "There is nothing wrong with me holding my submissive up to high standards. I'm an incredibly experienced dominant and-" "This has nothing to do with your experience level. Like I said before-" I try to explain again before he once again cuts me off. He raises his voice going on about himself. I doubt he really cared for Birdie all that much. He's never met her. This is an ego thing. "You have a nice day," I tell him with a sigh, turning and checking my watch as I leave the coffee shop. Appointment four down, six more to go. ---- Birdie, the wild, sassy, and fiery child of Ellie and Charlie is now of age to have her own dominant. With deep insecurities about her own personality, she asks her beloved brother Weston to find her a dominant. Ethan set out in life to be successful and he did just that. He owns his own finance company, his house and a nice car...but no submissive. He finds Birdie's profile online and is intrigued by the vague descriptions and the extensive interview process he must undergo to meet her.

He brushed his lips against my jaw, his dark hair falling over his brow. "Open your eyes," he commanded. "Look at me." I followed his orders and looked into the raven-black depths before me. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. But his eyes were so dark, so empty . . . "Nothing. I see nothing," I whispered. He smirked, his gaze still on me. Hazel eyes, that was my favorite term of endearment he settled on for me. Reserved specifically for me, by him and presented to no other previously or from this day forward. Kind to every person he came into contact with. Treated me with respect, and while with me acted as though I was the only woman in existence. Gentle with the words he spoke, and attentive to the things I needed. Clear about the physical urges he craved, yet never pressed. Feeling uncomfortable in his presence never a concern. A calm demeanor and patience I was unfamiliar with. Proud to be there with me, showing me off. Displaying affection in the presence of others was never given a second thought. Shame when it came to anything regarding my body typically, but with him I felt safe. Eating, wearing a dress, genuinely laughingly came easy with him. Without fail fascinated by me and me alone. Questioning rather or not I was the one he wanted to be there with never crossed my mind. He saw me, really saw me. Fear of any competition ceased to exist. A beautiful woman could pass by and his eyes wouldn't budge. Physical attraction evident however the immediate connection between us was rare. Drawn to him from the beginning when I first laid eyes on him. A yellow flower more significant than he ever realized. 29 years old and he was the only man to bring me flowers. I will cherish every moment with him. Every word. Every smile. Every touch. Every tear. Every kiss. Every look. Every laugh. Every scent. Every breath.
